Vilma Palencia

Hi My Name is Vilma Dear Parents,

My name is Vilma Palencia and I am the assistant teacher in Bernie's classroom. I started working for UCP as a substitute teacher in February of 2003, when Carmelita was on maternity leave. I have also had the opportunity to substitute in all four classrooms, which I have enjoyed very much. I have worked with children of all ages (from infants to eighth grade) for over ten years. For many years I was a Spanish teacher at two schools, which my own children attended; the Waldorf School of San Diego and Harriet Tubman Charter School. I am the mother of four: Saltya, twenty-five; Crystal, twenty-four; Maitreya, twenty-two; and Serge, eighteen years old. I am very happy to be working with Bernie, I have learned a lot from her and the children. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
