UCP uses paper Scrip for a large portion of its fundraising efforts. Scrip is a fundraising program that generates millions of dollars for charitable organizations nationwide. Supporters are provided with an easy means to generate funding by making everyday purchases from merchant establishments.
| What is Scrip? | | | There are two kinds of Scrip: paper, and electronic. Scrip is one of the biggest sources of fundraised revenue for the preschool, every dollar you spend on scrip benefits your childs school. | | What is Paper Scrip? | | | Paper scrip looks just like a gift certificate it is available for a number of retailers, including Home Depot, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Toys r Us, to name just a few. You purchase them at their face value and then use them at the appropriate vendor - in other words you pay the Preschool $10 for $10 scrip certificate, which means no out-of-pocket expenses for you. | | How do I buy Paper Scrip? | | | Paper Scrip is on sale in the preschool office on Fridays from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. You may pay for your scrip by cash or check, no credit cards please. If you cant be at the school during those hours, you can always place an order, along with your payment, in the Scrip Inbox in the office. | | What Vendors offer Paper Scrip? | | | There is a long list of vendors for whom paper scrip is available. The preschool generally stocks the following vendors: Barnes & Noble, Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Home Depot, HoneyBaked Ham, Jamba Juice, Krispy Kreme, Lowes, Mrs. Fields, Staples, Starbucks, Whole Foods. We cannot guarantee that all scrip will be in stock at all times. In addition to the select few vendors mentioned above, there are hundreds more vendors for whom you can order scrip (see attached list) simply let the office know what kind of scrip you are interested in and we can place a special order for you please allow 2 3 weeks for delivery. | | What is Electronic Scrip? | | | Electronic scrip is an even simpler way to make money for the school. There are a number of different electronic scrip programs, the two most popular being E-Scrip and the Ralphs Community Rewards program. | | How do I participate in E-Scrip? | | | Go to the www.escrip.com - you can register your Vons club card and credit cards, then be sure to swipe your Vons club cards or use your registered credit cards at participating vendors to get credit for your purchases. Please note that Vons shoppers need to re-register their card annually. | | How do I participate in Ralphs electronic scrip program? | | | Simply give the Preschool Office the number from your Ralphs club card, and be sure to swipe your club card for every purchase you make. | | How do I participate in Albertsons/Sav-on scrip program? | | | First, sign for a Preferred Savings Card at any Albertsons store or online. Then, go to www.albertsons.com. Click on In the Community then click on the Community Partners logo link. Once you log in, click on sign me up. Our Community Partner ID is 49000118932. | | What is Scrip TRIP (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)? | | | Scrip TRIP is a brand-new program for the preschool. As an incentive for parents to buy more scrip, the school will give you a tuition rebate equal to 50% of the revenue generated by your scrip purchases. | | How much revenue is generated by my scrip purchases? | | | The discount rate on scrip varies from vendor to vendor. Starbucks, for instance has a discount rate of 5% - which means that for every $25 scrip certificate you buy, the revenue generated is $1.25 half of which would go to your tuition rebate and half of which would go to the school. Vons, on the other hand, has a discount rate of 1-2%, depending on the amount of money you spend there. How much total revenue you generate is dependent on you, and how much you use the scrip program. | | When will I get my tuition rebate? | | | Tuition rebates will be calculated twice annually, in January, and in July. | | Can I get credit for purchases made by my friends and family? | | | Of course! Just direct them to the e-scrip website to register their Vons club card, or give the preschool office their Ralphs card number, name, address, and phone number. | Thanks for supporting UCP through the scrip program! |
