Hello,

My name is Leah Herron and I am the Office Administrator at the Unitarian Cooperative Preschool.  I come to the preschool with a background in Child Development and Family Services.  I have worked as a preschool teacher for both a private preschool as well as the Head Start program.  After being in the classroom for many years, I moved into a social work position at Head Start where I provided parents with much needed resources and referrals for community services. Recently, I graduated from San Diego State University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.  After graduation, I took a position in Court Administration at the San Diego Superior Court as a Deputy Jury Commissioner.  Quickly, I realized that I missed working with children and families and that preschool was the place for me!  I feel so fortunate to be here at UCP.  Hearing the children’s laughs and giggles all day brings me so much joy.  Currently, I am in the process of applying to the University of San Diego to obtain my Master’s Degree in education. 

At home, I enjoy being with my three children and my husband.  We love to take hikes around the neighborhood and making homemade waffles for breakfast on the weekends.  Time at home is precious to me.

I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to be a part of UCP.  I look forward to getting to know all of you!
